TRANS RAIL UKRAINE

SPECIAL REPORT

In order to achieve an efficient opening towards current markets within the context of a globalization that is paving the way to mondialization, it is essential to explore new supplies and demands which appear in the area of trade of goods and services.

With this idea in mind, USERWAY contacted the Urkranian State Center of Transport Service, Liski, and surprisingly found an efficient organizer of road, rail and intermodal transportation of cargo in transit, and exporter of containerized goods covering the territories of  the CIS-BALTIA and EU.

LISKI not only covers logistic organization and container transportation, but also establishes contractual relations with freight forwarders in the regions mentioned before, allowing modalities such as the delivery of goods under the "door to door" scheme.

High control levels and mutual relations with their partners allow this center to efficiently deal with all technical, logistic and financing problems appearing during the transportation of goods. To this end, LISKI experts provide:

The railway mode has preferential charges for the use of the container park, which are free of charge when using unloaded containers.

LISKI is a custom zone equipped with modern equipment that facilitates customs formalities and ensures fast distribution and supply chains. Likewise, since 1996, Liski has a route that interconnects the cities of Hamburg and Bremenhaven, which takes no more than four days

Intermodality manifests in its active participation with shipping companies (for instance, its joint activity with the Sea Rail Express of Istanbul-Nikolaev-Moscow). The institutionalization of this modality, which was born in the 80s, is supplemented by the center through the provision of customs declarations (registration of documents) and guarantees for the use of the container park. It also ensures the performance of international transportation regarding the physical services supplied to containers and also the legal safety that arises from the application of the International Convention on Safety and Customs Conventions.

The support to non-traditional services favors the dynamics of exchange and facilitates international trade. LISKI is an example of this and rises as an opportunity in the same way that, in 1999, the National Port Authority of Argentina foresaw the potential of the Black Sea and signed an Agreement with Odessa. This agreement is now magnified because the market (The Economic Community of the Black Sea) is expanding towards integrated logistics, and USERWAY is designing a solidarity chain to widen the economic spaces from pendular routes to the interior where LISKI may provide the opportunity that cargos have been waiting for so long, and that until now have not received.

We have found the way, now we just have to follow it. Like Machado said, walking leads the way”.
